The hardest part of this trip has been crossing the Bighorn Mountains of Wyoming. I gained approximately 6000' vertical in 7.5 hours. I slept that night at over 9000'. I could see my breath in the morning in July. I didn't want to get out of my sleeping bag — I broke 5 spokes on my rear wheel coming off those mountains on the east side. I repaired them in Sheridan, Wyoming. I rode 107 miles to Gilette, Wyoming the next day.
I have been averaging about 90 miles per day. I've done anywhere between 62 and 188 miles a day. I drink approximately 1-1/2 gallons of water a day. Montana and Wyoming have been my favorite states.
